Electric dryer would not heat - Thermal fuses - $25 prepare - I love DIY

ane. Unplug dryer from power outlet
2. Lift dryer meridian from front (hinged in rear). Just friction holding top down. Use flat scewdriver wrapped in textile to help lift.
three. Locate heating element - rear pinnacle behind drum
4. Unplug cherry wires to the loftier limit thermal fuse
five. Unplug ruby wires to the heating element
half-dozen. Unlug white wires to the high limit fuse
seven. Remove high limit thermal fuse
8. Remove heating element
ix. Remove high limit fuse
ten Clean heating box
Installation is reverse order but practice the following outset!
Clean lint trap - Remove front of dryer
ane. Unplug white door switch wires. inside front top right
ii. remove two screws securing the front end of dryer - inside front top left and top right. Front end of dryer is hinged at bottom
three. Clean all the lint you lot tin observe. If you lot have never cleaned out the lint, there might exist a lot and the cause of over heating (shorting fuse life). Add to your yearly things to exercise listing.
4. While your at it check the alignment of the plastic glides the drum sits on.

Dry stopped heating - still had good air flow

I was about to purchase a new dryer because of the historic period of my dryer and not wanting to hire someone to set up it. After a little web research, I saw several practice-information technology -yourself stories indicating this was a very easy repair.

This was an extremely easy repair and information technology save me lots of $$:
(i) Disconnected ability
(2) Opened the top of the dryer
(3) Asunder wires to temperature sensor.
(iv) Used a i/2" socket wrench with extension and a drill to remove 2 screws belongings down the temperature sensor
(5) Removed 1 screw belongings down the heating element.
(6) Removed wires continued to heating element and pulled out old element.
(seven) Reassembled new element.
(8) Turned on empty dryer for 30 minutes to burn off smell from the new element.

Worked similar a charm!
